Mooncake Festival with a difference....
Do you remember those younger days, playing with lanterns and candles? Well, the most vivid memory of mine about this festival was playing with fire, legally. I had a self-made stove; a Milo tin cover above two bricks, a candle and a pinch of creativity. Burning stench of the leaves and the simmering sound of the sprinkled water was always so welcoming. And not forgetting about the BAD experience of blisters, burned tang-lung and hair too at times
At the age of 20, this autumn festival relatively connects me to the food only; legendary mooncake that had much contributed to the history of China. No tang-lung in campus; who knows? I might just burn the campus away together with the dead babies at Level 3.
Well, this year, good samaritan and a good friend, Sharon, took me to experience the culture of Sarawak at the Carpenter Street. Bulb-lighted-miniature lanterns filled the atmosphere, while crowds of straving Malaysians filled the street under drizzling rain. Well, its a festive of celebration! Had my first bite of their traditonal ice-cream minus the cream, called Kantong.

A look at Kantong!
